Pardon the interruption, and forgive me if this is in a FAQ, but ...
When I play a DVD into a bttv (WinTV) capture card, I get lines and
funny chroma. My understanding is that this is a result of Macrovision
encoding, which intentionally screws up the sync on scanlines so that
you can't make a good copy of it the DVD. When played into the TV this
effect goes away, because (from what I've been told) the TV syncs on
each line.
My question: is there any way to get rid of this effect, e.g. settings
or changes to the bttv driver?
