Hello everyone,
I had some more time to spend on my grabbing problems (long frames, I guess
due to missed sync signals) and looked into the bttv sources.
I do use bttv 0.7.28. I tested literally all preinstalled cards, to find those which
lead to the fewest grabbing errors. Out came cards 21, 24, 34, 35, with 35 beeing
slightly superior over the rest. (My real card is not on the list.)
I looked into the sources of bttv.c to find the differences between these cards and
they are:
1) Number of Audio IN --- I guess not responsible for grabbing errors
2) The GPIOMASK
3) The muxsel-array
4) adiomux and gpiomask2 --- again audio I skip those
Can anyone explain to me, how the GPIOMASK and MUXSEL influence the device driver and
thus the result of my grabs.
I know one more card which has significant grabbing problems if used with my hardware,
it's Number 37. It differs from Number 35 (the best) only in the gpiomask --- except
from audio details.
Best regards,
Robert S.
