HI, I just saw your original post-- yes, Roxio is touchy and conflicts with other computer software and hardware. Windows Movie Makers hasnt been upgraded for years, but you could try reloading from free download area on Windows site. Ulead onthe other hand is the most stable and fully feature consumer software out there. It works with videos that have different frame rates more easily than other software.
Are your mpeg1 files recorded at 30fps or something lower? Many software don't like files with frame rates other than standard 29.97. And like I said earlier Ulead is free to try for 30 days-- if it freezes on ya, dont buy it. If it works, it's only $99 and less on ebay.

Ok Ok..
I can't find a software program that doesn't freeze my freakn'
computer. I have roxio medica creator and microsoft movie maker.
They all freeze or restart my computer. And it is really pissing me
off. I record all my videos in Mpeg 1 format. And I have P4 (2.8ghz)
with 80GB of free space. I don't freakn' get it!!
Does anyone out there have a software that does crash on them and has
some cool effect ? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Let me know what the
software is so I can cotinue doing vlogs. I need something reliable.!!!
