Oh no. This was way back when the first Mac version was coming out. Before I even heard about a Windows version being in the works. So late 2004 maybe. I just wondered what caused you guys to abandon the open source track and more for a more traditional track. When I create software I usually go with the same license as you guys (by-nc-nd), so I'm certainly not faulting you for choosing the CC license over an open source one! > if you see it in any of the "read me"...its becasue its an old > version...and we need to erase it. The Help -> About FireANT still says "All Rights Reserved" - if you're serious about the Creative Commons you should change that. > there was a time(Jan/Feb 2005) when we thought we'd go open source. > the idea was that there'd be all these developers who jump in and help > us. we had no idea what we were doing. > very quickly we learned differently. > the 2 developers, Daniel and Erik, who stepped up to build what we all > enjoy for free....want to make sure that we have control over the > fruits of our labor. I'm sort of glad to hear that. If I had chosen top help out while you guys were talking open source and you later changed your mind I would've been pissed. So I'm glad it's a non-issue. :o) - Andreas -- <URL: http://www.solitude.dk/ > Commentary on media, communication, culture and technology. ------------------------ Yahoo!
