Why, if we all did what you suggest, billions of dollars would be lost by helpless music hanger-oners, middlemen, and promoters (not to mention thousands of dollars from the artists themselves). Copyrights last too long and copyright lawyers are too agressive on things like incident music, insignificant logos in the background of videos etc. Copyrights are supposed to protect the artists and encourage inovation. Where they go beyond that they should be challenged.
