This is exactly the problem with embeded quicktime - it sucks the  
life out of your computer if you have to scroll - even if you are  
using poster images!

I think the cleanest solution is to make the embeded video open in a  
new window so that only one video is on the page - like how we have  
FreeVlog set up, or kind of like how Rocketboom works.
