Yes for some reason 3ivx only gives you the option to save to .mov
files. However there is a quick workaround. You make the mov using
3ivx. Then you load the mov into quicktime pro. Select export to
mpeg4, but set both the audio and video to use 'pass through' rather
than recompress.

This will create a .mp4 version of the 3ivx file, it is really quick
because it isnt recompressing anything, just saving the same info in a
.mp4 container rather than a .mov.
