I chose not to do this for vlogdir because I wanted the growth of the directory to be community-driven. I like to see it grow. It's like a living machine, videoblogging is, contagious and spreading. I put a seed out there. It grows from the interest of real people around the world. I think that's pretty neat, despite the sacrifice of a practicality.
I also do not have to worry about removal requests or accidental bandwidth issues that vlogdir may cause.
This was my deployment choice. Right or wrong, is what it is.
Maybe that will change one day.
