I think you're right. I am not kidding myself on this one...upbeat, attractive women work for content that is viewed...that is not news. I have been watching the German show for the last few days and I do not understand German. It certainly has a 'professional' feel. Kudos to them.

Let's hope that your show has an appealing/interesting host, for its particular audience.  That, along with interesting content, may very well keep the audience coming back for more.

Its about content and about serving an under or un - served audience. I got the idea to do this for an audience I think is underserved and in doing research found rocketboom and this list. So it is 'imitation' to some degree, but really, its just content for a particular audience.

I haven't seen the german show yet, but I expect to see hundreds of these springing up over the next few months.

It would be interesting to see how popular a show like, let's say, Rocketboom would be if in fact someone else hosted it instead of Amanda -- say someone not smart, hip, pretty and female.
These intregal elements to Rocketboom, I daresay, lend to its success.

You mean an ignorant, uncool, ugly male? Yea, I have to agree with you, this not a winning combination for "popularity". ;)

Considering somewhere around half of all of the human beings on the planet are female and probably half or more of those are young and pretty, I don't find this to be enough of an argument for why someone would go there.

In watching this show myself, and not understanding a word of it, I find myself asking why do I keep watching it?  It must be to a large degree that the host seems hip and smart, but even moreso, she's young, pretty, and female -- an undeniable element to its attraction, in my opinion.

I've been watching the German show (even though I dont understand
it), and I like it.
