A question for those vlogging at the CES. Did you just turn up and do it, or is it better to go for press
credentials? Have you had any problems with companies not wanting to be put on
video - on the one hand it could be good publicity, on the other you could be a
competitor. Having toted around a camera at this
years CES and in the past for shows like Comdex, I found almost everyone wants
to be on video. Having a tripod-mounted camera out meant companies we didn’t
want to talk to were hounding us for coverage (could have been because we were
shooting HD). I always cover shows as press because it provides a better level
of access to information but I don’t think there’s anything
preventing people from covering the show if you aren’t official press.
Most of the companies at a show like CES paid an insane amount of money and
just want their voice heard. On a broader note, has anyone experience of the difference
between a public show like the CES and closed "trade only" shows. I’m not sure specifically what you
are referring to, but shows like Digital Experience and Showstoppers, which are
press only events around the CES tradeshow, are more valuable for getting
stories than the actual show floor. Jake Ludington http://www.PodcastingStarterKit.com I’m giving away my Xbox 360: http://www.jakeludington.com/5xbox360.phtml YAHOO! GROUPS LINKS
