That didn't seem to help in previewing in the Storyboard.
The files play just fine in Windows Media Player when I view them separately from the Windows Movie Maker.

That's a problem, I bet. I use 70 at least, and that's when I don't care about sharpness too much.
I'd think for a screencast you'll want to make it 95 or so. You set it in the "Video Smoothness" box under the "Compression" tab in WME.
