I recently switched to Flash 8 from QT. The quality is much better than it was in Flash 7. I think the compression is better, too.
Only problem, is that a lot of people still haven't upgraded their players. Flash 8 won't play on older players. I have a little notice under my videos warning people in advance. Haven't had any complaints so far.
I prefer to load/play my FLVs using the www.proxus.com player.
