the difference is, i find it annoying AND dont feel like adapting to illogical implementations.
maybe feedburner etc should just merge the two... resolve it at the source.... any service or app that generates RSS might as well merge any redundancies upon generating the feeds.

The image size thing seems to be simply a recommendation in the RSS spec. But for Apple it probably has to do with how images are displayed in the iTunes directory, which has certain design specs.
