Maximum value for height is 400, default value is 31."

This means that people publishing images under the RSS maximum width is 144 pixels.  This isn't nearly large enough to display large channel images without upsizing.  However, iTunes image is recommended at least 300x300 pixels, which allows us to scale down the image to a more reasonable size (our large images are 160 pixels in width and scaled to maintain aspect ratio on the height).
