Thanks for crossing the line from lurker to participant. I'm reading
through your post and I feel a little ancient. I think the difference
of vlogging is that of accessibility.

I remember 16mm, Super8 and heavy stand alone video tape recorders.
You needed outside film processors, expensive equipment and a great
deal of fortitude to keep doing it. I actually had a class that tried
to teach how to cut and edit Super8 film with a razor blade.

Not fun, not artistic, not creative and rubber cement on Super8 film
is just sadistic. In the 21C I can show folks how to tell stories
with a $19 digital camera and access to a computer. Or podcast with
cassette recorder/media player or a microphone.

And the mainstream media is trying to co-op what we are doing.
Except that they are still using traditional programs and distributing
product to media players. I don't think they get it but that is them
and I leave them to static.

Except for the BBC. I love what they are trying to do on many levels.
Not perfect but making a good effort. Anyway There is new work being
birthed and new narratives being created that can't be regurgitated.
It is an exciting time.

Hey, you can't have too many Academicians in the group
http://www.richardshow.com Let us know when you are ready to tell us
your story.
