It does work well for short clips. Also, it can use USB input to capture video, where Premiere cannot.

Sorry, not a fan of Windows Movie Maker... It's okay for small clips
(as Adam's suggesting), but never use it to compress a full 10-minute
show!!! The first few Kitkast episodes were exported to .wmv via WMM
and the audio would completely unsynchronize from the video after the
first 4 minutes. Only use WMM for short clips and short videoblogs.
