From what I understand of it, yes, this is something we have to be concerned over if you are using in-page players.  (If you don't use in-page players, then no, this is NOT something you have to be concerned over.)

Basically, the <object> and <embed> tags aren't going to works as they used to work.

I think what is going to happen now, in IE's case, is that if you have them, a window will pop up and ask you if you want to run/play them.

If you just link to movie files (with the <a> or <link> elements) then you should be fine.
