This doesn't sounds like an iTunes problem.
Sounds like bad HTML somewhere in one of your blog entries.
If you have an <img> tag, it should end with a slash like this:

<img src="http://my/image/jpg"; />

XML is much more strict than HTML, and thus you must make sure that
your HTML is well-formed.
