I went through the procedure last year and I don't see the problems with
it. The employees are helpful and professional, it *very* fast and there
are even self-checkout machines when departing the USA (I'm a bit
entertained by the fact that you have to checkout of a country).

I guess it was clogged up when I was in Miami - it took us about an hour and we almost missed our flight.  Vacation travel probably had something to do with it.  And my guy was a total jerk so that also didn't help.  As always, depends who you get I suppose.
