Some incredibly bright minds were at the whole thing - not a dim bulb in the bunch, in fact. That, for me, was the real joy of vlogEurope: time (though not enough!) to talk with a lot of very smart, fun people about all sorts of things. We had somewhat similar feelings about vlogging and what it can be used for, but, beyond that, the variety of experience, world view, etc. was fascinating. I can't wait to do it again!
Andreas' idea to keep the conference sessions informal was right on the mark - no one was set up as the "expert," so everyone felt free to contribute, and we all learned more than I think we would have in a different format. There was just enough structure to get conversation moving, and not enough to stifle it. After all, we're all inventing this stuff together, from those who've been doing it "since the beginning" (all the way back to 2004!) to the newest newbie. All have something valuable to contribute, and that goes for the newbies in here as well as at conferences - speak up and say your piece, we WANT to hear it! (We won't necessarily agree with you, but so what? - the oldies frequently don't agree with each other.)
