Thanks Enric, took the words out my mouth. This is not a copyright issue, it is a licensing issue.
We are not breaking video aggregators. In fact, the point of CC is to encourage distribution and aggregation. Your CC license tells people what they can do with your content without having to bug you. Instead of people wondering can I share this among my friends/family/start a video portal, they can go ahead and do so. In our case, we say you can distribute it freely, even mash it up in other media. But you can't make money from it without talking to us first, or at least provide us a mechanism for making that decision. Myheavy has done neither to all of us. And we are not talking about them simply posting simple Google Adwords next to the post. In all practicality, that kind of thing does not bug us. We have only turned down one person in that scenario, and that was a hard decision to make (they wanted to use Node666, but we didn't feel that we alone could grant them the right since it was a collaboration). No MyHeavy are harvesting everything from blip, downgrading the quality, and enveloping it with HUGE, GARISH ads. Make no mistake, that is either stupid or malicious. --- In [email protected], "Enric" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > --- In [email protected], "Lucas Gonze" <lucas.gonze@> > wrote: > > > > This is a link being fetched on the client side, not a copy on the > > server side, so it's not a copyright issue. > > I see what you mean.
