This stuff is a wide open mess as well. Past discussions show that
different people have different ideas about what counts as a videoblog.

Purists of one sort or another may claim that some or all of the
folloing are necessary for something to be a 'genuine videoblog':

Comments
Permalinks
Downloadable/aggregatable content & associated feeds
Video always shown in context along with text part of blog
Any other feature Ive forgotten to include taht could be sen as an
essential part of what a blog is

Personally Ive always believed that language definiton purists arent
the ones who get to decide what a label comes to mean to the masses in
the fullness of time.

Ive also ranted briefly in the past about the dangers of disregarding
youtubers etc as 'not the genuine article' because of technical
features their service of choice may or may not provide, can be a
slippery slope towards coming across as snobbish or elitist.

Whatever youtube is, its certainly more than just a place to store
video. They have some active social networking aspects, and far more
text comments on a lot of videos, and video responses/conversations,
than I see anywhere else on the net.

My personal stance may be tainted by the fact I have always thought
deep down that the blogosphere can be a bit 'up itself' sometimes,
partly because I hate the 'superstar blogger' phenomenon and partly
because I was enjoying the words of human beings via mailing lists and
forums long before blogging came to be, and the humans, what they say
and how they communicate with others and feedback is what really
attracts me to all this, not any one particular way of doing this stuff.

Cheers
