casey, I totally agree with you and rudy... that user submitted cc slate
png in the cc wiki is most definitely  "not my style"...

I've created several versions of my own CC slate... for different projects.
the best way to do that is to click the "press kit" link from the main
creativecommons.org homepage and design your own...

you can download vector versions of all the logo and license icons there...

I've also created motion versions of different license types at dv resolution
in after effects... but haven't felt like "open-sourcing" them yet...

even though the cc logo is trademarked (the irony!) it was always part
of our early discussions that anyone could draw their own (cc) symbol
much like people draw their own (c) copyright symbols...

go wild and have fun making your own! if its rad looking, then post it to
the cc wiki! maybe people will pick it up and use it...
