I want to thank people how responded to my comments about 'Hope is
Presidential'.

Matthew Bernius, who is a Visiting Professor at Rochester Insitute of
Technology and a 'New Media Researcher' had an interesting response.

online discussion of my youtube/political posts, online fieldwork
implications, and other sundry things

in which he says:

Aldon mentions Ask a Ninja, Hope is Emo, and Lonelygirl15 as YouTube
exemplars. I’m not quite sure what the candidates can learn from these
content creators, as they all are essentially “old media” examples in the
new media space. All of these are professionally produced (read as scripted,
acted, filmed, and edited by professionals).

Describing Ask a Ninja, Hope is Emo, and Lonelygirl15 (with a possible
exception of Lonelygirl15), as "essentially 'old media' examples in the new
media space" kind of jumped out at me. I wrote more about it at

"What is authenticity in this digital space?"

I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on the subject.
