Hmmm, I don't care where it is so long as Southwest Airlines can get me there and I have enough time to save up for it. I do have some June black out dates so it would be helpful to pin it down date wise.
I've been reading the threads and it strikes me that what we all want is connection and conversation. Here are some of my thoughts. I'm not a convention burnout, can't afford to be so I tend to like info panels. So I think the next event should have a few. I think a full week is begging for burnout. But that shouldn't stop folks from coming early or staying later. I'm just talking about the "official" event. Conversations about exchanging information can be really juicy. So maybe we ought to look at the "salon" format where folks get nice and cozy (or contentious) on the couch and talk about their viewpoints on CJ, Vlogging near Police or extending the dialog with other groups of vloggers (YouTubers and related folks) Some of us have things that need to be yakked about in person. I think that we have an opportunity to reach past our comfort zones and discover the hidden part of whatever city we happen to meet up in and see what videos the group comes up with in 2-3 days. Naturally, the Karaoke contingent of our group must be nurtured so electricity or a good bar needs to be in proximity. If it is in NYC then we gotta go on a food road trip. Raw foodies, omnivores and all points in-between. I'm talking serious scarfin'. Camping - well, yeah but I do need to be walking distance of toilets/showers. There might be a place in NY state that accommodate but ??? So let's take the best of last year, start thinking about what we want and let the cogitating begin.
