::: JOSH RECEIVES ANOTHER AWARD :::

It was announced this week that Josh will receive the annual Herbert
Block Freedom Award from the Newspaper Guild - Communication Workers
of America. The distinguished award will be presented on May 3 at the
union's Freedom Award dinner in Washinton D.C.

Earlier this month The Society of Professional Journalists awarded
Josh with the James Madison Award for online free speech and last
November Josh was named Journalist of the Year along with two San
Francisco Chronicle reporters by the same organization.

::: LOCAL TV SHOW AVAILABLE ONLINE :::

Last week here in SF Howard Vicini, founder of the Bay Media Lab,
created and hosted a program titled Preserving Freedom of Expression:
New Challenges, New Sacrifices. The show focuses on Josh's case and
the need for a federal shield law for journalists. Guests included
Sarah Olson, Jeff Perlstein, Ralph Miller, Sarah Phelan. Richard Knee,
and Julian Davis.

The program also features fascinating and reavealing footage from
another videographer of the protest under investigation by the grand
jury. The video shows Josh clearly "committing journalism" and appears
to undermine some of the claims made in the press and in the court
room.

::: WHAT DID WE FORGET? :::

Please let us know the important stuff we forgot to include in this
update. This newsletter will come out about once a week and/or
whenever immediate action is needed by Josh's supporters. Please
contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] with any information you think should be
included in this update.
