On my trip to LA in January I stayed at the Mayfair -- tres shabby, but cheap, there's free wifi, a good taco truck across the street and it's only a five minute walk to the Metro train.
Yes, I just said "LA," "walk" and "train" all in one sentence. But then I'm the kind of guy who'll take "el sabor del barrio" over "parking and pool" six days a week and twice on Sunday.
