Hi all,

Does anyone have an update on the Section 1201 anti-circumvention rule? It was
set to expire on October 27, but was extended for an indefinite time while the
Register of Copyrights compiles her recommendations. The Federal Register
notice says the extension should take "a few weeks," but it's been almost 3
months. http://www.copyright.gov/1201/ Is there any sense on which way the
wind will blow?

Thanks,

Linda Tadic

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
