I'd like to know! I have a similar, though very nicely phrased, letter sitting
here at my desk, which I've yet to figure out how to answer. Obviously we're
able to use these DVDs. If they don't want institutions buying the DVDs via
Amazon (which is what my letter says---the director/vendor didn't think
libraries would use Amazon), why are they posting their titles there?!

Equally at a loss for words,
MM

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
