There's no question that these DVDs are bootlegs, most likely from a poor telecine of a 16mm print. QUATRE NUITS D'UN REVEUR has never been released officially released on video anywhere in the world. Together with UNE FEMME DOUCE, it's one of the two Bresson films which is completely MIA on DVD. But at least UNE FEMME DOUCE saw a decent VHS release by New Yorker; QUATRE NUITS didn't even get that.
Good to know that it's undergoing a restoration in Italy! --James > Gotta be bootlegs, absolutely > As my pal Jessica has said on a number of occasions, if it ain't sold via > amazon (or its Euro-affiliates) chances are it's not legally sold at all > (except, maybe, for PD stuff...and even that's iffy) > gary -- James M.
