Thank you all for your responses, I appreciate you taking the time to tell me your thoughts, Uhm Micheal Brewer I only joined the list a few weeks ago, I probably missed that whole post by a day or two, Gary ypour advice was really very helpful and I guess that So having a film studies degre for my undergrad and spending 5 years as an editor, sound engineer and Graphics artist, plus 5 years as a grip and camera person sets me up pretty well for certain jobs, especially as I have done some encoding too and my interests are always eclectic ( which makes it very hard to buy me christmas gits I am told), Laura thank you too but no I am not intrested in being a tape librarian, I used to do that at a post house and it is not what I am looking for, I am looking to be a librarian who handle film and media, and Dennis thankyou as well, lets hope the field is growing sooner rather than later because I graduate in two semesters (knock on wood) . Again thank you all.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
