Hi everyone,
So, we own many of the Alexander St. packages, and that is pretty much it for
us. I'm not sure we are ready to jump in fully but I would like to at least be
able to purchase digital licenses for those high use films that multiple
faculty use, and for those 25-50 films that faculty put on physical reserve,
digitize and load them onto a video server. Our campus currently doesn't have
a video server, although they are looking at large, grand options for the whole
campus, and I'm not sure what they will choose, how it will work for the
library, etc.

Does anyone have documentation about how they proposed or justified a small
start for their own library?

Also, we have heard about Indiana University's "Variations" - which is a
audio/video platform in a box sort of thing...is anyone using this?

Any help is welcome!

"You see, I don't believe that libraries should be drab places where people

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
