Hi Jane,

Thanks for the feedback. Just a quick question, do you have 23 different
pricing models for 23 different distributors? And is that for streaming or for
hard copies?

Matt

I think it would be a worthwhile discussion. We've been discussing streaming
for a couple of years now and models have been evolving. It's time now to
think about purchasing models for hard copy and streaming. We definitely want
to keep the inde producers in business and we should come up with a solution
that's a win-win. In New Jersey, we have pricing models for 23 distributors
that are contributing to our statewide system (njvid.net). Thanks for the
interesting discussion. It definitely should continue. Regards, Jane

Subject: [Videolib] Purchasing models at NMM

Hi All,

Before I volunteer to do anything, does everyone think that the National Media
Market would be a good time and place to have a something (discussion, debate,
roundtable, rave, water slide) around purchasing models? If not, is there
another place or venue that would be better?

Cheers,

Matt

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
