Again no US distributor , has only played a few US fests. Rights holder is
Telepool in the UK ( and elsewhere)

I know you guys have to be polite when you get requests and go through the
motions, but I would tell faculty that unless it is A. on Amazon. B had a
confirmed theatrical run in the US. or C. They can find a citation that a US
company has bought the rights (and in that case you might be months or years
away from a DVD), it simply is not available( and even if it opened in the
US there may be no DVD) You will drive yourselves insane trying to respond
to requests about
the 98% of films which don't get distributed in the US. Surely
the faculty are capable of finding out if it is for sale on DVD in either
the US or a legal subtitled copy in say UK or Australia.

Otherwise they better have one hell of budget to directly approach an
overseas rights holder about obtaining a copy.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
