7 day checkout, unlimited # for students, staff and faculty. Our
non-media checkout is by the quarter so that's considered fairly
conservative for us. And of course faculty are encouraged to book in
advance. Circ will often adjust the due dates for faculty if they need
material longer as well.

Subject: [Videolib] Media circulation terms

Good morning everyone,

Our library has what I believe is a very generous circulation policy for
our media items but a handful of my faculty complain vociferously that
it is too restricted. Could those of you with an academic media library
collection share how many films a faculty member is allowed to have out
at one time and for what duration?

Your information is much appreciated!

Best,

-lisa Hooper

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
