I would be interested in hear about your thoughts on this association as
well. I am thinking of joining if it is worth it as a librarian.

Subject: [Videolib] Society for Cinema and Media Studies

Hi all,

Are there any academic media librarians (especially film studies librarians)
who are members of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies or have
attended/ presented at their annual conference? Do you feel this
organization or conference was worthwhile from a librarians POV?

Feel free to respond off list.

Thanks,

Kim

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
