Hello!  I'm a master's degree student who is debating about whether or not to
pursue a doctoral degree.  I have worked 18 years in the broadcasting field,
and am currently studying library and information science because I feel that
there are better methods of organizing and accessing audiovisual materials,
especially as we move further into the digital age.  This degree has opened my
eyes to the possibilities that exist "out there" and I would love to pursue
further research in the area, really bringing my past experience together with
my current educational pursuits.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject?  Advice?  Recommendations?  I
would love to hear from you!

Thanks!

Cynthia Goode
VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
