Greetings everyone,

I have a 4th year medical student looking for documentaries dealing with MSF's
withdrawal from Rwanda at the height of the genocide. He was specifically
looking for the 1994 The Big Story episode "The Gun Runners" but it looks to be
completely unavailable through ITV (the company that bought the original
production company, 20 20 Television) or any other vendor. I've only been able
to find one film that specifically deals with MSF in Rwanda but not necessarily
the withdrawal. Perhaps someone on the list has the perfect film for our
student?

Here's my short list, any additional title recommendations would be welcome:

* Triage: Dr. James Orbinski's Humanitarian Dilemma, DVD 2009-
0642<http://voyager.tcs.tulane.edu/vwebv/holdingsInfo?bibId=2545597>

Orbinski was in Medicins San Frontiers during the genocide. Follows Orbinski in
his return to post-genocide Rwanda. After poking around a bit this appears to
be the only other available documentary specifically about MSF in Rwanda.

* Ghosts of Rwanda, DVD 2007-
5227<http://voyager.tcs.tulane.edu/vwebv/holdingsInfo?bibId=2253301>

Examines lack of response from international community

* Chronicle of a Genocide Foretold, DVD 2013-
0036<http://voyager.tcs.tulane.edu/vwebv/holdingsInfo?bibId=3300207>

Follows several people shortly before, during, and after the genocide. Part 2
includes footage shot by UN peacekeepers, including their withdrawal.

* God Sleeps in Rwanda, DVD 2010-
4110<http://voyager.tcs.tulane.edu/vwebv/holdingsInfo?bibId=2856188>

Follows 5 women recovering from the genocide and related atrocities.

Thanks!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
