Hi Rhonda,

Looks like Hens Tooth distributed it on VHS in 1997. They have a contact us
form online at http://www.henstoothvideo.com/ContactUs.html. Worth a shot.

Also in 1994 was distributed by Facets Multimedia, and according to their
website you can *rent* the VHS from them still:
http://www.facetsmovies.com/user/movieDisplay.php?movie_id=885361

Maybe contact Facets and see if they know who has rights?? Although they're
running a Netflix-like service for rare/op titles so I don't know if they would
have any idea.

Good luck!! I think the professor could make a DVD copy for himself (quality
will probably be terrible ...) but you really can't add it to the library
collection. I poked around to see if I could even find a used VHS that you
could purchase and add to your collection, and then make a Section 108 copy,
but I couldn't find anything available.

Subject: [Videolib] who should i call? Ghostbusters?

Hi, I have a faculty member who owns the VHS copy of this title and wants to
put it on DVD. I don't see it available for purchase in DVD and I can't find a
copyright holder. If anyone has any info on this title, I'd be thrilled to
follow it up. Otherwise, I am thinking he can make a preservation DVD copy for
himself? And, he wants to make another copy for the library for circulation
also.
(personally, I'm not sure what the quality of the tape is going to be, but
that's another story...)

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
