I assist student groups and faculty running "film series" and the like to obtain one-time screening rights, but the groups or departments are responsible financially. I just do the legwork.

Greetings everyone, A quick and rough poll - how many of you will purchase one time screening rights for a film? If yes, how do you fund these one-time only screenings? If not, how do you work with faculty to help them get their own funds? You can reply off-list, if anyone is interested I'll share the compiled results. VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
