Hi all, I have a faculty who would like to purchase streaming rights to the following films. The first three are all Ohio based films/filmmakers/distributors - none of these provide any type of streaming services, nor do we have a server at Ohio U capable of uploading films.
I'm wondering as a non-filmmaker/distributor - how difficult is it to ask for something like this? In the world of streaming services, these types of things are always a bit wonky, and if so, suggestions are welcome. I feel I am not well rounded enough on streaming to speak to how smaller filmmakers deal with this issue. Thank you all for your feedback. Best, lorraine wochna Ohio University * Devil's Oven - I can contact filmmaker and see if she has a streaming copy, but probably not! These are just little companies. * Cheshire Transaction - same deal, since it is Ohio based we might get something from the filmmakers. * Forest Returns - same thing, Ohio based and I could perhaps find the filmmakers/company. * Inhaling the Spore - and same thing, but they were distributed by Microcinema, which no longer exists.
VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
