Hello everybody!

The VIFF repository has been quiet lately. This is because I am busy
writing a paper where I try to formalize what VIFF does and then prove
it secure.

But I would also like to have some performance results in the paper. So
far I have run tests on the DAIMI local network:

SCET comparison: ~650 ms (average of 10 parallel comparisons),
Multiplication: ~1.2 ms (average of 100 tree-parallel mults).

If I run one client at DAIMI and two at home (connected via a
8Mbit/768Kbit internet connection), I get these timing results:

SCET comparison: ~1075 ms (average of 10 parallel comparisons),
Multiplication: ~14.3 ms (average of 100 tree-parallel mults).

I would like to try VIFF over greater network distances, and this is
where you guys come into the picture. Please tell me which machines you
have access to in exotic places. So far I know of these persons/places:

  Tomas: Holland
  Tord: Norway

Do any of you have access to machines in other countries? If so, then
please let us know!

I am currently installing VIFF on the viff.dk machine hosted at
DreamHost (in Los Angeles in believe), USA. But it takes quite a while
to compile libgmp, gmpy, etc. since the machine is very busy (the load
is ~25!). I'll post some results when I get them.
