Since I didn't write the Makefile stuff I don't really know it so well.

I know about the 'Tools' menu lacking keyboard shortcuts.
I think now looking it again how to fix it.*
All the other menus should have keyboard short cuts, except the New Layers.
I think I can fix that too now as well.*
*previously overloading a simple text name for multiple uses (icon, tooltip,
menu entry, etc...) - expanding the data type should allow the various options.
