Hello,
I am using a non-public source of sat image tiles which offer
very detailed images at zoomlevel 20 ( also known as 0.125 pixel facts in
viking)
Unfortunately I can't share this source to make this reproducible for you.
The source is defined in maps.xml as follows:

I set "Zoom Level: Use Viking Zoom Level" for the Maps Layer as always.
Now if I zoom in, viking downloads tiles up to zoom level 19 but
when I zoom to 20 (which is called 0.125 pixel facts in viking)
it does not download any tiles.
Instead viking seems to zoom into the tiles of the 19 layer to display
them as zoom level 20 layer. Somehow like a magnifier.
BUT: If I right click on the maps layer while being at level 20 (0.125 pixel
facts)
and click "Reload All Onscreen Maps" viking DOES download the wanted high
resolution tiles.
How can I get viking to "Autodownload Maps" also at zoom level 20 ?
