Good questions. I don't have a fanatical view on what content should be
here. I would disagree with an attempt to post a Vim manual or other large
reference. The Vim FAQ is large and like a reference in parts, but I regard
the FAQ as a bit of an exception and think that it fits nicely with the tips
here. I see the FAQ as being exactly in line with the spirit of tips.

In the short/medium term, I was thinking of making it clear which pages are
from the FAQ. For example, each FAQ page might start with a standard header
that links to the FAQ introduction page, including the TOC. In a couple of
years time ... who knows?

Yes, but I think we'll have to live with what's achievable at the moment,
and I don't think downloads are going to happen.
