It seems like several weeks since I did a SVN update after revision 1000. Anyway, I did an update yesterday, and fetched revision 1011.
I have tried lots of different options for ./configure, but I have not been able to successfully build a vim with GUI enabled. Not that there are any errors in the build; the build progresses smoothly without errors, but the finally built executable does not have the GUI feature enabled. If no one has a problem with my posting the output of configure, please let me know. At the very least, please let me know what significantly changed between SVN revisions 1000 through 1011 (7.1.293 - 7.1.298), so I can try and figure out what is wrong. For whatever it is worth, here is an (what I consider to be relevant) extract of the output of ./configure --enable-gui checking --enable-gui argument... yes/auto - automatic GUI support checking whether or not to look for GTK... yes checking whether or not to look for GTK+ 2... yes checking whether or not to look for GNOME... no checking whether or not to look for Motif... yes checking whether or not to look for Athena... yes checking whether or not to look for neXtaw... yes checking whether or not to look for Carbon... yes checking --with-gtk-prefix argument... no checking --with-gtk-exec-prefix argument... no checking --disable-gtktest argument... gtk test enabled checking for gtk-config... no checking for gtk12-config... no checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config checking for GTK - version >= 2.2.0... no checking for GTK - version >= 1.1.16... no checking for location of Motif GUI includes... <not found> checking if Athena header files can be found... no checking if neXtaw header files can be found... no checking X11/SM/SMlib.h usability... yes checking X11/SM/SMlib.h presence... yes checking for X11/SM/SMlib.h... yes checking X11/xpm.h usability... no checking X11/xpm.h presence... no checking for X11/xpm.h... no checking X11/Sunkeysym.h usability... yes checking X11/Sunkeysym.h presence... yes checking for X11/Sunkeysym.h... yes checking for XIMText in X11/Xlib.h... yes Please note that nothing changed w.r.t the configuration of my Debian Etch box between the two SVN updates. thank you for listening, - Anand Hariharan --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message from the "vim_dev" maillist.
