Sorry -- This is off topic: I recently upgraded to Firefox 3, and found
that Mozex no longer works. For those who don't know, Mozex is an
extension by which one can edit textarea's in Firefox using Vim / your
favourite editor.
Searching for a replacement led me to a few rather neat extensions:
1. Vimperator: Once you press escape, you're in a stripped down
version of Vim's "normal" mode. (Not working on Firefox 3)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4891
2. EmbeddedEditor: Embeds xterm -e vim (or whatever else you choose)
directly into Firefox's text areas. (Not working on Firefox 3)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5482
3. It's All Text!: Clicking a button, or pressing a hotkey lets you
edit the text area in Vim / your favourite editor. (WORKING ON
FIREFOX 3)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4125
For those who use gmail / blog / wiki, this is a life saver. (Especially
if you press Ctrl-W expecting to delete the word you just type, but find
the entire tab closes...)
