Would patches that live in said repo that are in active use and prove
stable have a higher chance of being reviewed?
Personally, I suspect that such an agreement is what is lacking in order
to get more people to test out patches. I know it's the main stopper for
myself as I fear most work in that way will be useless, anyway.

If gut supports something like trac, that would be a neat way to get
comments about the patches going. Otherwise, they could be put
onto wiki discussions, into a forum or patches could be integrated
in whatever is done with the scripts section.
