Ah, I see. So if (let's imagine) Steve Hall were to add the "extra float 
functions" patch, or maybe the "variable tabs" patch, to his 
Vim-for-Windows distribution at SourceForge, he would have to mention 
them so that it appeared in the intro screen, but if I add the same 
features by patching and don't distribute, then listing them under 
":version" is enough.
