Hi, I have a question about the contribution process.
If I want to contribute, which way of contribution is more "vimer":

    * check for TODO.text, read develop.txt, choose an unsolved problem,
try to fix it and send a patch for review.

or

    * propose new feature, discuss it on [email protected]
<mailto:[email protected]>, if it approved, implement it
and send a patch for review.

It depends on your area (and level) of expertise in C coding, vimscript coding (and of which variety), etc.

This is my first question.
If first way is more vimer, then my second question is - where I can
discuss feature requests?

Here.

If second is acceptable, then my second question is about the feature
request I want to implement:

I want add 2 following options into vim's waring dialog in
buf_check_timestamp:
"Skip All" and "Reload All".

I think it can be done with no change to the C source, by means of an appropriate FileChangedShell autocommand. See:
        :help autocmd.txt
        :help FileChangedShell
        :help input()
        :help inputdialog()

However a C patch might integrate it better. In that case, you might want to build Vim with your changes, test it as extensively as you can, then send your patch here (as a _context_ diff, preferably as a *.diff attachment to a post). Then wait for any reactions. Even if Bram doesn't accept your patch for inclusion into the "official" Vim code, maybe it will added to the list of "semi-official" patches on the vim_dev Google Group; but we aren't there yet.

Oh, and _before_ you start coding: Make sure you read develop.txt and in particular (but not only) ":help coding-style".

Though it is not revolutionary fresh idea, but I really will be glad to
implement it.

Thanks all.

And finally: after more than a month and a half, it makes me wonder that I'm the first to reply. Better late than never, I suppose. :-/

Best regards,
Tony.

Half-done:
This is the best way to eat a kosher dill -- when it's still
crunchy, light green, yet full of garlic flavor. The difference
between this and the typical soggy dark green cucumber corpse is like
the difference between life and death.
You may find it difficult to find a good half-done kosher dill
there in Seattle, so what you should do is take a cab out to the
airport, fly to New York, take the JFK Express to Jay Street-Borough
Hall, transfer to an uptown F, get off at East Broadway, walk north on
Essex (along the park), make your first left onto Hester Street, walk
about fifteen steps, turn ninety degrees left, and stop. Say to the
man, "Let me have a nice half-done."
        Worth the trouble, wasn't it?
